Zvartnots Hamuyt Members!!!

The idea of creating "One spirit in one body" via the Armenian dances came from one of the group members, Satenik but when the news spread up around, many of us became very much interested in it, and I started to convince Mr. Gevorgyan,"Gevorgyan Paratun" Director with my everyday calls to form a group from 8 pm. Finally, I received a call from him and we went ahead to walk over the art bridge of our Armenian folklore dance.

Small description of the group member
Zvartnots Hamuyt consists of 9 members, 8 out of which are employed at Zvartnots International Airport. All of us are considered Administrative employees and our job starts at 10 am and ends at 7 pm, thus it is convenient for us to go directly to dance after work.

Armine Mikaelyan - The most administratively important person in the Company. She is in charge of assisting the Company's General Manager in almost everything. Besides, she is a unique personality, likes to travel and find new adventures, especially in Delhi streets at nights. Her voice is low and I wonder how she is heard during the grand meetings:) Armine likes to practice the dance steps even during the work. She also likes pizza with mushroom, ham, cheese and even suggests to prepare pizza mass at her workplace kitchen. We should try it!

Liana Badalyan - The most financially essential role in our Company's life. Liana is the only charming representative of the Accounting Department whose voice on phone is so pleasant that I am not afraid to use another word to describe it...it is sexy:) Liana likes to be among her friends during the lunch time, and she is constantly organizing meetings, such as walking to UTO, sitting in a pavilion located in the Administrative zone, etc. Liana also likes to travel, and her recent trip was to Dubai where she had the chance to cit on a camel and be in Safari. Liana dances very well since she had attended to dance classes in her early ages.

Naira Grigoryan - The most cheerful joker in the Company. Nairita is a very special flavor not only for the Company, but also for the Systems Department where she works as a Translator/Administrative Assistant. Almost everyone in the Company knows about the elevated Armenian language skills of this wonderful girl. She always speaks in fluent Armenian, applies very beautiful words in her speech sometimes mixing some very interesting colloquial words. You may see her saying words such as "achaparel, khrokht, vehandzn" together with a tasty ''Armenian'' word "piskel or khuzhan":) She is really a lovely person, unfortunately doesn't like mushroom:) Naira's dances are always accompanied with her hands movements which are the result of her own creativity.

Anaida Gazarova - The most legislative personality of the Company. Anaida is a multi-talented person, but her professional work in our Company is in the frames of her specialization of Lawyer. Don't be afraid of this fact, because she is a very joyful and energetic person and is always ready to change your negative mood into positive. Anaida is famous in the Company also by her dances in the bus. She never loses the chance to cheer up us after 7 pm, and I should confess she succeeds. Anaida is also a perfect cook. I have tried the chicken with mushroom she has cooked, and wow, it is so delicious. Anaida is fluent in Armenian, Russian, English, Hebrew, also speaks a little Spanish, Arabic...maybe some more languages? This is what I know yet. Oh, yeah she is a professor at the Slavonic University and doesn't like that fact when her students call her with her surname or name and father name.

Astghik Galyan - The most commercially important person in the Company. Astghik works for the development of trade within the airport, but before that she has contributed to the construction of the New Terminal which now serves as Departure and Arrival Halls. Astghik is a sunny person always with a beautiful smile on her face. With her admiring smile she has attracted the men in Safari. She looks great when she holds nargile on her fingers. Astghik likes to bear nice ornaments on her, especially earrings and necklaces. Astghik always smiles during our dance classes, moreover, she laughs at our mistakes and later on urges us not to feel upset when she can't keep her feelings. Don't worry, Astghik jan, we all are laughing at each other's ''nice'' steps.

Satenik Mkrtchyan - The most securely important person of the Company. Satenik is the right hand of the Security Department, and she knows almost everybody's steps in the Company. She can follow us by several screens, can zoom in to see your clothes and shoes from screen, in brief she is following us, so be cautious:) More seriously, Satenik is a very modest and kind girl, she is also a great traveler not only abroad, but also throughout Armenia. She knows almost every stone in many regions of the country. Very recently, I discovered one more privilege in the list of Satenik's advantages, and that's what anyone of us has once dreamed about. She worked as a flight attendant and has been in many countries for many times. Satenik dances quite well, and certainly will be one of the first to stand in the dance line because of her nice and tall height.

Meline Poghosyan - The most airport handling person in the Company. Meline is the Translator of the Airport Administrator, and almost no morning meeting starts without her. She is solving important questions concerning the aircrafts and flights, etc. Meline is as precious as her name, and she always appears in the place on time. One cannot hear from her for the whole day, and suddenly appears an email from her saying such definite words that have no limits for generating laughter. Meline dances good enough but she always complains of her steps. That shows her willingness to have progress in her job.

Anna Hovhannisyan - What refers to me, I can't say much, but what I am really interested in is to discover more about people surrounding me, to find more privileges they possess, and become delighted that such people exist on the earth. I am happy that a group of 8 Armenian girls attend those Armenian dances, and do their best to achieve perfect results. I am glad to have met such people and I am sure lots of things are to be discovered yet.

Learning the classic dance elements

Port de bras [pawr duh brah]

Carriage of the arms. The term port de bras has two meanings: (1) A movement or series of movements made by passing the arm or arms through various positions. The passage of the arms from one position to another constitutes a port de bras. (2) A term for a group of exercises designed to make the arms move gracefully and harmoniously. In the Cecchetti method there are eight set exercises on port de bras. In the execution of port de bras the arms should move from the shoulder and not from the elbow and the movement should be smooth and flowing. The arms should be softly rounded so that the points of the elbows are imperceptible and the hands must be simple, graceful and never flowery. The body and head should come into play and a suggestion of épaulement should be used. In raising the arms from one position to another the arms must pass through a position known in dancing as the gateway. This position corresponds to the fifth position en avant, Cecchetti method, or the first position, French and Russian Schools. In passing from a high position to a low one, the arms are generally lowered in a line with the sides. Exercises on port de bras can be varied to infinity by combining their basic elements according to the taste of the professor and the needs of the pupil.

Releve

In ballet, a rising with a spring movement to point or demi-point

Plie

A bending of the knees in any of the five positions. Demi plie: a half bending of the knees, with heels on the floor. Grand plie: a full bending of the knees.
